Do I need to typeset my list the way I want it?
Names or other information should be typed in exactly how you want it to print for upper and lower case letters. We will set the font style, color and size to match your instructions.

How should photos be provided?
Photos should be provided in JPEG, TIF, EPS or BMP formats. Preferably they should be converted from RGB to CMYK. Art charges may apply if images need to be converted. Scanners and digital cameras create RGB images. Images can be converted using any photo software (examples: Photoshop®, PhotoDeluxe®, PhotoPaint®)

Will you correct my typos?
Nope! What you send us is what you will get.

How do I match a PMS color?
Process printing with PMS colors requires that you select the colors from The Pantone® Process Color System Guide or Pantone® Solid to Process Guide books. This will give you the most accurate visual guide of how your PMS color will print.

Do I still need to send color-separated artwork?
We no longer request that the artwork be color separated.

Can we reproduce metallic inks?
No, process printing does not print metallic inks or fluorescent colors

Is there a charge for more than one line per badge?
There are 3 lines of personalization included. Contact customer service for additional lines required.

Can you use a photograph as artwork?
Yes. Art charges will apply for scanning in a photograph.

I have artwork from my web site. Can I use that?
Artwork for web sites is not usable. The Internet only requires images to be 72 dpi, which will produce very low quality images

Can I write on the surface of the full-color magnets?
No

How many colors can I print?
As many as you want! Digital printing can reproduce thousands of colors by mixing the Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and black inks to create colors. Screen printing uses solid color inks to produce specific colors.

How is digital printing different from screen-printing?
Digital printing is a direct connection between our computers (with your artwork) and the product. We print directly on the finished product. Digital printing uses semitransparent CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and black) ink colors to create a spectrum of colors. Screen-printing involves several production steps between the artwork and final product. Screen-printing uses specific ink colors, much like when you purchase paint for painting a house. The store mixes the paint to your color and then you apply.

Can I put a different name on each badge?
On personalized products -- yes! Personalization is either engraved or digitally printed. Check the appropriate product for the options available.

How do I care for my vehicle magnets?
1. Magnetic sheet can be distorted (especially at high temperatures) if handled incorrectly. It must be kept flat or rolled with the magnetized side in.
2. Avoid wrinkling! Store magnetic sheeting signs in a roll with an inside diameter of no less than 4 inches with printed surface on the outside. It’s a good idea to store signs inside a cardboard core or tube for protection.
3. The vehicle surface should be clean, dry and waxed prior to applying sign.
4. Do not apply a magnetic sign to a newly re-painted vehicle.
5. Make sure the entire surface of the sign is against a steel surface with no existing air pockets or body putty.
6. Remove sign from vehicle at least once a week and wipe dry both the vehicle and the sign.
7. Clean the surface with a mild detergent in warm water.
8. Some metallic (metal flake) paint finishes can be affected by magnetic sheeting. A slight discoloration may occur under the magnet.
9. Always remove the sign by lifting the center of two opposite sides. Never start at the corners. This will avoid bent corners and reduced adhesion.

How do I put pictures of my employees on their name badges?
Send us your name list and your images. In the spreadsheet with names the last column should contain the file name of their photo. This is a perfect use of digital printing and personalization.

How do I send my names?
Names must be submitted electronically. This means that the list should be sent to us via e-mail or on a disk. Lists should be formatted per our specifications. See our electronic guidelines for the types of media we can accept.

How does the quality compare to screen-printing?
We normally screen print halftones at 85 lines per inch. This can create undesirable effects in the halftones of artwork. Our digital press prints at 122 lines per inch. This results in printing much closer to offset printing quality.

How should I format my document?
The name list can be in several different formats: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, tab delimited or comma delimited text. Below is an example of a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
