Digital Product Artwork

ID Line carries a full line of digitally printed products. Digital printing is WYSIWYG...what you see is what you get! If your logo is lime green with a black border, please specify it as such in your graphics program. Artwork must be in CMYK format for printing. Color shifting can be expected if sending RGB artwork. Artwork should be at least 300 dpi, similar to litho printing. Artwork from an internet site is rarely usable. Very small, light colored type may not print satisfactorily. Please review the Electronic Artwork Specifications checklist below before sending your artwork to minimize delays in your order.

Electronic Name Lists
Name lists must be provided in an Excel spreadsheet or Word document on disk or via e-mail. This is the best way to avoid spelling errors. Names will be imprinted just as you type them.

Proofs
Paper or electronic proof of product layout is $10.00x. Paper proofs are faxed. Electronic proofs are a PDF document, emailed to you. We proof layouts only, not name lists.

Bleeds
If your design prints to the edge, allow an excess .125" beyond the product for printing the bleed.

Artwork Charges
Artwork charges may be necessary if additional time is required to bring artwork up to acceptable standards. We bill artwork charges at $80.00x/hour with a minimum charge of 15 minutes. If you are adding photos to any product, please contact customer service regarding detailed digital photo requirements.

Copy Changes
For change of copy (example name and phone number on business card magnets or tag line on badges) add $40.00g per change.

Color Matching
For PMS colors please specify colors from the Pantone® Solid to Process swatch book or the Pantone® Process swatch book. Neon and metallic colors are not available on Digital products.

Spec Samples
An actual preproduction sample of a product will incur appropriate setup charges. Preproduction samples are produced in our normal production time. Artwork, setup charges and shipping charges will be billed on spec sample invoice.

Imprinting Typestyles
The typestyles available for digital products are shown on under Digital Typestyle. (“Digital Typestyle” text will be a link to the Digital Typestyle section.) Specify Upper/Lower Case or UPPER CASE lettering.

Backgrounds are available for full-color products. Each background can be used in full-color (as shown) or muted. Specify background when ordering by the number or name listed below each image.

Screen Printing

Traditional Artwork
The best results are achieved by sending us electronic artwork. Any scans should be a minimum of 1200 dpi. See Electronic Artwork Specs for Screen Printing for specifications. All other artwork is scanned and then output to film. For the best results, clear, sharp black and white stats should be submitted. Fine text, lines and details may not scan well, resulting in a broken image. In such cases it is helpful to provide artwork at least 200% of actual size (up to 8.5" x 11"). We will resize artwork to fit desired layout.

Halftones
Halftones must be provided electronically. If black and white stat is the only artwork available, an art charge will apply to the order. We reproduce halftones at 65-85 line. We screen traditional halftones. Halftones cannot be reproduced with metallic inks.

Process Printing
We no longer screen print in four color process. Any digitally printed product can be substituted. Contact customer service if you have additional questions.

Color Matching
PMS color matches are $40.00g per match. Charges will appear on all reorders. PMS matches are not guaranteed. Note that dramatic changes in appearance of ink color will occur on dark materials. Example: yellow on blue appears green.

Artwork Charges

Artwork that bleeds off the product may require artwork charges. Bleeds are not available on all products, see product page for details. Artwork is placed .125" from each edge, unless specified with order.

One color is included in the price of most screen printed products. Colors are as close as printing methods allow. If you need a sample color swatch, please request a screen-printed color chart. PMS numbers listed are for reference only. For an exact match add $40.00g for a PMS match.

Digital Personalization

Digital Name Lists
Name lists for digitally printed products should be sent in an Excel spreadsheet or tab-delimited text file. Each column is equal to a line of personalization. The file shown would be for a two line badge with the name on first line and title on the second line. Send an example with your artwork. Include the location, typestyle and size of personalization. Please note that we will print the text exactly as you send it. Example: pETERSON will print as shown. Double check your spelling, etc. We do not proof lists. Orders are not considered complete until the name list is received.

Digital Typestyles
Choose from the typestyles below for your personalization. Be sure to note the ALL UPPER CASE, all lower case or Upper and Lower Case when typing your list. It will appear just as you have typed it.

Available on digitally printed products (full-color badges, full-color tags, magnets, signs and vinyl).

Engraved Personalization

Engraved Name Lists
Name lists can be provided in a text format, Notepad or Word document on disk or via e-mail. Each line is equal to a line of personalization. The file shown would be for a two line badge with the name on first line and title on the second line. Name lists can also be faxed. Lists should be clearly typed in a legible minimum12 point type face.

Please note that we will print the text exactly as you send it. Example: pETERSON will engrave as shown. Double check your spelling, etc. We do not proof name lists. Name lists should arrive a minimum of 3 days before scheduled ship date.

Engraving Typestyles
Choose from the typestyles below for your personalization. Nameplates and signs can also choose from the architectural typestyles. Add 20% to sign prices for these typestyles. Engraving typestyles can be italicized additional charge. Specify ALL UPPER CASE, all lower case or Upper and Lower Case when ordering.

Architectural Engraved Typestyles
Available on nameplates and signs. Add 20% to sign or nameplate prices for these typestyles.

Release Program

Our Release Program makes it easy for you to order the small quantities of badges or nameplates that will arise after you place your initial order.

On your initial order extra badges are imprinted, paid for and placed in inventory for later release. When you are ready to order more badges, simply go to www.badgerelease.com to enter the names required into the predefined fields and submit your order.

There is no shipping charge or invoice when products are released and there is no minimum quantity to be released in each shipment. We will keep your badges in stock for 2 years. After 1 year of inactivity, your program will be closed. Released products normally ship First Class Mail.  Alternate shipping methods are available for an additional cost. Larger quantities of released products may require additional time.
